Where it actually goes wrong
Not in the big choices. In the small ones that quietly decide them.
- The internal flight was a separate booking.
The first leg ran late. The second recorded a no-show. The carrier that sold it has no relationship with the one that did not wait, and the replacement seat is whatever fare exists that afternoon.
- The certificate came from the shop.
It binds nobody — only a state museum’s determination decides whether an object may leave Turkey, and the statute that governs it carries five to twelve years.
- The balloon was booked after landing.
The extension that would have covered it had to be bought before departure. An activity exclusion does not only remove the activity — it can remove the medical section it sits in.

Each is worked in full: the model most travellers arrive with, why it fails, a ledger of what is actually known, and a verdict you can argue with — stated as a call, with the conditions under which it flips.
Every claim carries its provenance
Three marks, used once each and never stacked. Established — structural, true for years rather than months. Official — a published rule, a regulation, a government position. Volatile — a live figure, which is why it does not appear in the book at all.
Most paragraphs carry no mark, deliberately: the reasoning is ours and is not a sourced claim. And where the research found no published figure — the connection time, the hospital tariff, the age threshold — you get the absence and the reasoning, not a plausible invention. That is less comfortable than a table, and it is the only version that survives contact with an airport.
What it refuses to do
- It will not name a hotel or a restaurant. A list would be wrong by spring. The method for reading a room from the street will not be.
- It will not print a price. Prices in a currency moving at this rate are artefacts, not approximations. They live on the Field Sheet, which is dated.
- It will not tell you whether you are covered. Exclusion wording differs between insurers, and between two plans from the same insurer. It tells you which page of your own policy to open, and when — which is before the thing is booked, not after it is flown.
- It will not invent a number that does not exist. This is the refusal that produced the book.
The book ages slowly. The Field Sheet is dated.
Two documents, on purpose. The book carries the analysis — the structure of the trip, which holds for years. The Field Sheet carries exactly the figures that move: the inflation print, the Bayram dates, the withdrawal charges, the restriction end-dates. It is dated and reissued, and when the two disagree the Sheet is right and the book is old.
What arrives, and when
Both files are PDFs, and they arrive the moment the payment clears — nothing is posted, nothing is drip-fed, there is no account to make. Read them on a phone or print them; the book is laid out for paper at 58 pages.
